Fantastic Four Animated Series

According to the Hollywood Reporter and CNN Entertainment, Marvel Comics is set to partner with Antefilms productions, a french animation house that has seen mild success, particularly with a series on the Cartoon Network that splits the sequences between 2D and 3D animation, Code Lyoko.

The fruits of their labors will be a new animated series featuring the 4 irradiated astronauts. Marvel chairman and CEO Avi Arad said he isn’t looking for a Saturday morning cereal-show, like previous ventures into comic inspired cartoons. Instead Arad says they are aiming for an all-ages viewership, similar to the long running Simpsons, going into it’s record 17th season.

Though it may not take any of Homer’s audience away, the show may still appeal to adults who remember the comic books or the Hanna-Barbera animated series of the late 60’s. No word yet whether the new show will be a 3D foray or if it sticks with the more common handdrawn look (digital). Antefilms has experience in both mediums.
