Fox To Bring Reality to Cable, 24/7

Fox Network Group yesterday announced their plan to launch an all reality show cable channel in 2005. The unnamed channel is not the first of its kind however, as the Dish Network also hawks such a channel from Europe, “RealityTV”.

Fox plans to air new and repeat performances of their most popular reality series’s as well as new, cutting edge entertainment (personally, I use the term loosely). The decision may come under fire, as Fox has been accused by rival networks of stealing ideas for new shows, most recently “Trading Spouses”, a show about flip flopping parents between families. ABC claims they were the first out of the gate with their idea, “Wife Swap”. It’s unsure whether either show derived the proposal from A comedy skit by Dave Chappelle, also dubbed Trading Spouses, on his popular cable sketch comedy show.
