Spiderman Knocks Out Ape-Man in Front of Mann's Chinese
Media Geeks received several eye witness accounts of an altercation between the webbed wonder and a Planet of the Apes refugee outside of the historical Mann’s Chinese theatre on Hollywood Blvd.
To boost the tourist experience, costumed characters representing popular films, past and present, wander the foyeur outside of the theatre, posing for pictures and digging for tips. A theatre representative we spoke to said that the costumed actors are not employed by the theatre or it’s surrounding shopping complex of Hollywood and Highland, but rather come and go as they please.
Today though, play acting took a backseat to street fighting when Thadeus, an ape from Planet of the Apes, took a swing at Spiderman and the two brawled amongst the cement hand and footprints.
“It was unreal. They were jawing face to face and then spiderman took a swing and really got to punching the guy,” one witness told us. After a few minutes, Spiderman apparently got a good swing in. “The guy was out cold twitching on Hollywood Blvd. The police just took Spidey away in handcuffs.”
Another witness reported seeing the Ape-man on the ground convulsing before 4 police cruisers and an ambulance arrived to assist. Sketchy reports from a security guard in the area mentioned that the two had been in each other’s faces for some time, but hadn’t come to a head until today.
Theatre employees we contacted were instructed not to comment on the incident and no police report has been filed quite yet. No arrests were confirmed at the time of this writing, and the costumed Spiderman seems to have resumed his web slinging amongst the crowds
