13th Annual SAG Nominations Announced

This
morning in Los Angeles, SAG announced the nominees for this years
honored SAG awards. Every year actors vote on who they feel is
the most deserving and then honor them with a statue. The SAG
nominees and winners are usually a good indication for the coveted
Oscar because fellow actors vote for those too.

Highlights from this years nominees include Leonardo DiCaprio being
nominated for both Best Actor (Blood Diamond), and Best Supporting
Actor (The Departed). DiCaprio’s nominations have been under
great speculation, especially after he was nominated for Best Actor
twice for the Golden Globe. This was a great way to solve the
problem, and The Academy might treat him the same way when it comes to
the Oscar Nominations.

The winners will be announced at the 13th Annual SAG Dinner on Sunday
January 28th. This year they will also give a Lifetime
Achievement Award to Julie Andrews.
