Daily Casting Report – 11/22/2004

Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs), and James Gandolfini (The Mexican) have joined the remake of “All the King’s Men,” helmed and adapted by Steven Zaillian (Gangs of New York). Additionally, Patricia Clarkson (Miracle) will replace Meryl Streep, who stepped out of the film last week. Sean Penn (21 Grams), Kate Winslet (The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind), Jude Law (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow) and Mark Ruffalo (Collateral) round out the cast.

Dustin Hoffman (Rain Man, Tootsie) and Dax Shepard (Without a Paddle, Cheaper by the Dozen) will star in “Car Wars.”

Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy) will replace Aronofsky after he bowed out from directing “The Watchmen.”

Aaron Eckhart (Suspect Zero, Paycheck) should give his agent a raise. He announced today that he is set to join the casts of “Conversations With Other Women,” with Helena Bonham Carter (Big Fish, Fight Club), “Thank You for Smoking,” and “Conversations.”
