Futurama Recasting – Maybe Not

I’m not all that confident about the trustworthiness of The Toronto Star, but their Rob Salem is reporting that Fox and and the voice cast of Futurama have come to an agreement

You may recall that last week several cast members had posted on their Facebook pages that they had not been asked to return after a 26 epsiode pick-up season had been announced. Furthering that, a casting call list was discovered via Fox’s website soliciting a need for actors to fill major roles, including that of the series’ central characters, Philip Fry (Billy West), Bender the Robot (John DiMaggio) and Turanga Leela (Katey Segal).

According to The Star, a compromise agreement was penned promising the actors more money, but not as much as they were initially requesting. A similar situation mired down production on The Simpsons back in 2004 when voicers asked for nearly triple their salary after 15 years of work on the show. Though no specifics were released, talks were said to have ended similarly, and things have remained smoothed (at least for the actors) since.
