Jon Stewart to Host Oscars

The host of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” has just been named as
the host for the 78th Annual Oscars Award Show. The show will air
on March 5th. Stewart replaces Chris Rock who attracted a young
audience last year, but failed to be able to return due to some
alienating comments during the show. Stewart’s dry humor fits the
profile best and puts him in the position of being able to roast
Hollywood rather then comment on fack news for one evening. This
will definetly still attract a younger audience because Stewart has a
following from Comedy Central. It is nice to see the Academy
choose a fresh face rather then returning to old standby’s when Rock
did not work out they way that they wanted to.

Also, with this announcement of who is hosting the Oscars, it means
that the announcement of the nominations are growing ever closer.
They will be announced on January 31st and later that week Media-Geeks
will post its third annual Oscar Contest. We will keep you posted
as we get closer to the time.
