Looney Tunes Return to Theatres in Daffy’s Rhapsody

The Looney Tunes are swiftly finding their way back into the spotlight as of late. The first season of The Looney Tunes Show on Cartoon Network is doing very well and The Chuck Jones Experience recently opened its doors to the public in Las Vegas. Now, Warner Bros heralds the return of Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd to the big screen in Daffy’s Rhapsody.

This brand new short is a music filled escapade that goes from a night at the theater to duck season when Elmer gives chase to Daffy as the little black duck evades the hunter in his own inimitable fashion.

Daffy’s Rhapsody will debut in theatres nationwide on February 10, 2012, attached to Journey 2: The Mysterious Island from New Line and Warner Bros. It stars the voice talents of the late Mel Blanc as well as Billy West, who voices many of Blanc’s characters today as well as hundreds of other characters from Futurama, The Ren & Stimpy Show and Batman: The Brave and the Bold to name a few. The featured song was written by the late Warren Foster a Michael Maltese, legendary writers from the Looney Tunes golden age. The animation itself was directed by Matthew O’Callaghan and created by Warner Bros. Animation in beautifully stylized CG that does the characters justice.

Even if Journey 2 isn’t up your particularly alley, the price of admission might be worth it to hear Mel Blanc’s voice on the big screen again, or perhaps for the very first time.
