Puss In Boots Teaser Now Available
I’d like to think I’m able to keep up on all this stuff, but somehow this one slipped by. I guess that when they said they weren’t going to make any more Shrek movies, I never considered spin-off territory. That’s exactly what Puss In Boots is though. This prequel-of-sorts features everyone’s favorite furry bounty hunter in a new adventure to steal the famed goose that lays golden eggs.
Puss, voiced once again by Antonio Banderas, is joined by Humpty Dumpty (Zack Galifianakis) and the inevitable love interest, Kitty (Salma Hayek). I found the trailer to be just a tad…odd. We’re basically watching a cock-sure cat walking down the street…stripping down to nothing bu boots. It’s a little creepy. I see what they were going for, I do, but it just comes off as being weird.

Agreed- never would have seen the spin offs coming… guess that was stupid on my part and proves why I’m not a film exec. How naive of me to think they’d give up on a top grossing franchise after only 4 installments when there was still a little bit of life to wring out of it.
It’s interesting- if I had no prior knowledge of the franchise and this trailer was viewed completely out of context, it would indeed be very creepy and pretty laughable.
