Spiderman Two and a Half

Spiderman 2 should be in stores, a double disc special edition, with about 10 hours of bonus features, on November 30th, but director Sam Raimi told IGN.com he intends to release Spider-Man 2.5 sometime next year. The ‘point five’ gives viewers additional visual effects and action scenes.

Raimi is forthcoming about his decision to release a 3rd version of the DVD (a movie only Superbit version will also be available this November) claiming that it was a financial decision, not an artistic one driving the disc.

I’ll give the guy credit for being honest, but witholding what is obvious bonus material will upset some fans. I could be bitter though. I just seem to be the bane of DVD distributors. Everytime I buy a disc, an announcment comes out 2 months later that and Ultra-Uber Special Platinum Edition is being released and I’ll clearly be inferior if I don’t have it. Say for example….Pirates of the Caribbean…
