Star Wars Trilogy, UK Record Breaker

According to BBC News, one day was all it took for the ‘Holy Trilogy’ of fandom to break all previously set DVD sales records. Previously, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers held the high mark at a highly impressive 50,000 orders by Amazon customers.

September 21st sought to topple Peter Jackson’s epic with George Lucas’, by an additional 35,000 orders. That’s eighty five thousand box sets, for those who aren’t good with numbers. Fans won’t be too surprised, as most will tell you they’ve waited for these films to be available since the birth of the DVD format.

Total profits are still unavailable, likely not until next week, but high hopes are easily met, especially after seeing the beauty and majesty of what these discs embody. Our own *NIX Geek couldn’t have said it better in his review.
