Warner Bros. Creates DC Entertainment

Almost certainly as a reaction to the partnering of Marvel Comics and The Walt Disney Co., comic giant DC officially fell into bed with Warner Bros this morning to create DC Entertainment, a company founded “to fully realize the power and value of the DC Comics brand and characters across all media and platforms,” according to the press release.

Most of the DC based film, television and game outings like the Batman reboot, the recent Arkham Asylum console title and nearly every animated version of the company’s superheroes have come from the WB. I don’t think fans are in for any major surprises here, it just means that, like Marvel, the deal opens the doors of opportunity for more films and merchandising with Warner Bros. putting their industry muscle at DC’s back.

So forget Spider-Mickey. Today is all about Bat-Bunny, Daffy the Duck Wonder and The Tasmanian Lantern.
