Bad Santa

Bad Santa is NOT a children’s movie.. but who ever said all movies with Santa in the title had to be… well maybe that WAS a good rule.. regardless this movie centers around a drunk, has-been, safe-cracking Mall Santa played wonderfully by Billy Bob Thornton who along with his foul mouthed wee sized friend who plays a Christmas Elf and who together knocks off a different mall each year.

I went into this movie expecting a few laughs and mostly expected to see a giant train wreck. Truth is this movie made me laugh practically from the first minute to the end credits. There’s enough obsinity here to make Al Pacino blush!

Bad Santa tramples over all that is sacred about Santa and Christmas… and that’s what makes it such a great movie. The relationship between Santa and the kid doesn’t get sappy and boring, it’s real, and it does not compromise on what the film set out to do. Even the ending is appropriate (and very funny).

Go see this film, but leave your Mother and Kids home, as this film is highly offensive, but if your OK with that, this is worth checking out this weekend!
