Troy – DVD

Hopefully you don’t need a synopsis of the film here because you saw it
in the theatre. That is by far the best way to see such a large scale
movie like this one, but the DVD release of Troy was just as good.
Director Wolfgang Peterson decided that the DVD version of the film
should not be altered in anyway. I agree with that. Now a days there
are way too many directors getting big heads and deciding to add
another hour to the film when it is released on DVD.

This
release is a two-disc version…one for the film and the other for the
special features. Below you will find the list of special features that
are included. The best extra is the Gallery of Gods. Here you get to
navigate Mt. Olympus and learn more about the Gods of Ancient Greece.
This was by far the best feature and the most interactive. It is not
like the stupid games that you usually see on kid’s DVDs. The bad
problem with the DVD is the lack of a plethora of sound options and
commentary, but I don’t have a problem with the latter…some of you
might though.

If you liked the epic version of The Iliad in the
theatres then you will enjoy watching it over and over again on DVD.
Especially if you like a nude Brad Pitt.
