80th Oscars, 117 Nominees and 1 Iffy Night

Things are still pretty up in the air as to the fate of the Oscars. The 80th Academy Awards are scheduled to broadcast live, February 24th, but The Great 08 Writer’s Strike rages on. Proper recognition hasn’t been lost however, as the nominees for the coveted gold statue have been finalized. If quantity is any indicator the sure pick this year is a tie. No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood both raked in 8 nominations a piece, including Best Picture. Rounding out the top film list are Atomement, Juno and Michael Clayton.
