Aliens: Colonial Marines Coming Spring 2012

A first look won’t invade our eyeballs until E3 next week, but Sega and Gearbox announced this morning that Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to ship for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in the spring of 2012.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is the newest cop-op shooter set in the sci-fi universe of Ridley Scott’s iconic film franchise. Players lead a group of US Colonial Marines to an abandoned (and suitably creepy) ship in order to discover the fate of the crew and a conspiracy that goes beyond a random attack. At first glance, it appears to be in the same vein as Republic Commando from a few years ago, swapping Star Wars for Aliens and adding co-op.

For those of you attending E3, the game will be display in the South Hall at SEGA’s booth #2023. For the rest of you, check back next week when we report from the show floor. Oh, and here’s a teaser:
