Say Hello to Activision’s E3 2011 Roster

By now, you’ve probably already gotten bits and pieces of this year’s offerings from Activision. The debate over the new Call of Duty Elite services not withstanding, in the past few months we’ve also gotten talk of Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, Prototype 2 and X-Men Destiny. Here’s the whole enchilada:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 / Call of Duty Elite – Xbox 360, PS3, Windows PC
The latest in the series promises what is always expected: a solid single player campaign, special ops mode and online multiplayer with new weapons, environments and tactics. The Elite service, at an additional charge, integrates the title with social networking and rich player content as well as receiving all the DLC to ever release.
Modern Warfare 3 ships November 8, 2011. The Elite service starts its public beta run July 14th, 2011.

Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure – Nintendo Wii, 3DS, Xbox 360, PS3, Windows PC and mobile.
Using custom equipment and accesories, players can bring new Spyro toys and their “abilities” to the screen across multiple platforms and on the web.

PROTOTYPE 2 – Xbox 360, PS3, Windows PC
Sequel to the open-world action title from 2009, introduces and new hero, infected by the biological weapons that he needs to use to find and destroy Alex Mercer.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time – Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, 3DS, DS
Not one, but two webbed wonders star in this time-spanning title written by Marvel vet Peter David. The game features “cause and effect” moments where decisions made by the Spidey in the past reflect on the Spidey of the future and are demonstrated by a picture-in-picture mechanic.

X-Men Destiny – Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, DS
Play as one of three fresh mutant characters and help them answer the ultimate question: Save humanity or destroy it. Customize paths, powers and how the character develops to defeat a verient of opponents.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon – Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, DS
The inevitable tie in to Michael Bays summer movie clashes bot-against-bot, playing between robot and vehicle with an added hybird “Stealth Force” mode that combines the two.

Wappy Dog – Nintendo DS
The next step in virtual pets, Wappy Dog is a physical toy puppy that interacts with the player through the Nintendo DS. Aimed younger, it allows players to teach virtual and real world tricks as well as play games and interact in ways not seen before.
