Sims 3 Console Debut Teaser

It’s still a few months off, but that’s why they call it a teaser. Though not entirely new to the console, the Sims franchise is primarily a Mac and PC staple for anyone into strategic life simulation. This October though, EA is breaking out of the desktop box and spreading across the console spectrum.

Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 owners will get a more traditional Sims experience by building homes and towns and guiding their Sims through their lives. Trading and sharing content online is that much easier too with their respective online services and bonus Facebook connectivity for the socially network-inclined.

Wii owners get a bit of a different experience that so far looks more like a mini-game series, but allows for direct control of their Sim in game for the first time.

DS gamers get an entirely different level of control with drawing tools to create everything from home decor to characters’ facial features.

More is sure to be revealed at E3 next week, but behind closed doors. We’ll do our best to be on the right side of those doors to bring you the details. In the meantime, enjoy this confessional debut trailer.
