Madden NFL 11 Predicts Big Game Winner

So… who’s watching the big game this Sunday? Once again, I will be joining friends for a few laughs and a few drinks in front of a 46″ plasma while the Packers and the Steelers slam each other’s heads into the grass.

Meh, I’m just in it for the commercials and the food. I could care less about the-game-that-shall-not-be-named (because I didn’t pay for the copyright). I do however find it equal parts fascinating and pointless when EA Sports pits their flagship product of the year, Madden NFL 11, against itself in order to predict the outcome.

Last year it predicted that the Saints would walk away with the Lombardi Trophy and they did, which I suppose is cool, but they only ran one simulation to get a result that may as well have been a coin toss.

I digress though. I’m not a sports guy and I’m even less a sports game guy. This year’s simulated outcome has the Steelers on top with a record seventh win defeating Green Bay 24-20. You can watch the whole thing play out on ESPN3.com Thursday, Feb 3. at 9 EST featuring NFL players and Grammy nominees Big Boi and Ceel Lo Green.

Or, you can watch the highlight reel below and save some time.

EDIT: For the first time in quite a while, Madden has failed to predict the winner. Just sayin.
