Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Gets Gussied Up

Back in my day, completing certain objectives or discovering easter eggs earned you the kind of special in-game items like new weapons or costumes. Sadly, gone are those happy times and we’re forced to pay for the latest haute couture that our fighters punch, kick and otherwise serve up beat downs in. Such is the case with several upcoming new costumes for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 characters.

On March 1st anyone with a spare 5 bucks for their chosen console (Xbox 360, PS3) can download (or is it unlock..hmmm) new duds for Captain America, Chris Redfield, Dante, Iron Man, Thor and Ryu. Personally, they’re mostly pretty subtle and otherwise benign changes, but the Jack Kirby-style Thor costume does a lot to grab your attention, as does the new Captain America that looks more like a new character than a costume change.
