Nintedo DS: Dull System

In a press release,
Nintendo announced, or didn’t, a new system in developement they say
will be marketed seperate from the Game Boy Advance, despite the fact
that it’s a portable system. The Nintendo DS (presumably Dual Screen)
will feature a hand-held design that uses 2 3″ LCD screens allowing for
either a vertical wide-screen experience or giving the players seperate
views of their one game. An example would be a close up player shot on
one side and a top down larger map view on the other. Although an
interview with GameInformer
clears a tiny bit up, there are still no pictures or tech details on
the unti, despite it’s promise of in-store availability for the 2004
holiday season. According to other sources, the spring E3 event should
have a prototype for convention attendees. I’ll make sure to bring my
camera.
