Nintendo Drops Breadcrumbs

President Satoru Iwata during a press conference today announced
their plans for a new game console. Not sparing any details, Satoru
only said that with declining sales in both the Japanese and US
markets, Nintendo will look to innovate with new gameplay, rather than
flashy graphics. This announcement comes fast on the heels of
introducing a new portable solution, the Nintendo DS, a never before
done dual-screen portable some feel was created rather hesitantly in
response to Sony’s first portable outing, the PSP.

Iwata said
that a prototype of the new system, code named “Revolution” will debut
later next year. Rivals Sony and Microsoft also have plans for next
generation consoles with similarly few details.
