Tales of Monkey Island Developer for a Day

Being that everyone’s a critic, especially gamers, everybody has ideas on how the game they’re playing at the time can be improved, but there’s not a good chance they’ll ever be granted that wish. As you’ve probably already guessed by that not-so-subtle intro, there’s a contest on the way to let you do just that.

Telltale games, the twisted minds behind the Strong bad and latest Sam & Max games won the adventure game lottery when they were granted the rights to begin work on LucasArts’ much lauded and long missed Monkey Island series for this generation. To help generate buzz for the episodic title, Telltale is asking their quickest witted fans to send in their best one liners describing how their Hero, Guybrush Threepwood, has wronged them in some way. Winning entries, as judged by the real developers and site visitor votes, will be written into the script in an upcoming episode and recorded by in-game voice actors.

Yar matey! In addition contest winners may appear in the game credits and be eligible for other great prizes. The contest kicked off today, July 14, 2009 just before noon PST, and runs through midnight PST, August 10, 2009. Additional contest details can be found at http://www.telltalegames.com/monkeyisland/contest. Send in your insults often and check the website’s leaderboards for the most popular.
