Star Wars TV Series
The Star Wars Celebration 3 has wrapped up in Indiana and attendees of
the uber-geek expo have begun to spew forth onto the net like so much
morning-after breakfast. Easily the most eye catching has been that of
not one but two confirmed television series possibilities, straight
from the flanneled one’s mouth.
Lucas, who for the first time since 1987, actually made an appearance
to speak with fans told of his plans to take the highly acclaimed
Genndy Tartakovski Clone Wars series and elevate it to a full on CD
animated half hour series for Cartoon Network. This is in addition to a
rumored 3D Lego retelling of the trilogy.
Following that, a
live action series using characters concurrent with the trilogy’s
timeline between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope (episodes 3 and 4).
Apparently Rick McCallum backed it up mentioning plans for a whopping
100 episodes, although nothing has been said as to the network or time
slots, but production is expected to begin early 2006.
Finally, both speakers mentioned a possible Willow spin-off series,
based on the Lucasfilm flic starring Warwick Davis, although nothing
more was specified.
Looks like Sci-Fi fans are going to have a bumper crop of tv-shows in the coming years.
