StarTrek: Enterprise Canceled

As fate would have it, UPN & Paramount Network Television together announced today that this would be STAR TREK:ENTERPRISE’s final season. As a long time fan of STAR TREK, this is sad news. Especially after so many fans fought so hard to keep it on the air. However it’s not too much of a surprise considering rumors had been flying around about cancellation anyway. Interestingly enough, as some die-hard fans may remember, the same thing happened in the 3rd season of the original series’ run. After a campaign by loyal fans, it was saved from cancellation before it finished out it’s final season.

Some fans like myself saw the move from Wednesday to Friday as a bad omen. Just like so many other sci-fi series on broadcast networks (SLIDERS, DARK ANGEL, FIREFLY, even the original series of STAR TREK), ENTERPRISE was subjected to the time slot of death before meeting it’s demise.
