TrekUnited ends fundraising

After a valiant effort by TrekUnited, a well organized & determined group of Star Trek fans fighting to keep StarTrek: Enterprise
from getting cancelled, they have admitted defeat in this battle. The
organization is now working to refund the over three million dollars in
donations back to the fans that hoped to help sponser another season.
Although they admit defeat in this battle, the war is not over. The
people of TrekUnited will continue to find a home for the series.
Rumors have been circulating that SpikeTV (that reruns StarTrek: The
Next Generation & StarTrek: Deep Space Nine) may pick it up, as
well as rumors of a Canadian production company taking over production
of show.

Editorial Note:
In this fan’s opinion, every show has trouble in it’s 3rd season. To
me, it just seems that, since Roddenberry is no longer a factor,
Paramount has lost faith in the show that legions of fans have no lost
faith in. Although I doubt 3 million would be enough for an entrie
season, it should’ve shown Paramount that it was being watched &
that we wanted more. Instead, Paramount cut their losses & UPN will
replace the show with yet another sitcom no one will watch.
