Hilary Duff (A Cinderella Story, The Lizzie McGuire Movie) and Sister Haylie Duff are lined up to star in “Material Girls.”

Documentary filmmakers James D. Stern and Adam Del Deo (The Year of the Yao) are planning a documentary around Ohio’s 2004 General Election vote. [Editorial note: This is not a joke. They were there from late October waiting for something bad to happen. Now that nothing happened, they are still moving forward with the movie. I guess you have to do something when you hire film crews to film people waiting in lines.]

Chuck Norris (Top Dog, The Delta Force) and Daniel Bernhardt (The Matrix Series, The Bloodsport Series) have joined, “The Cutter,” a film penned by Bruce Haskett and helmed by Bill Tannen

Russell Mulcahy (Ricochet, Highlander) is in talks to direct, “Russell,” a comedy penned by Simon Kelton.

Writer / director Hal Masonberg (Mrs. Greer) has found a distribution company for his thriller, “Plague,” which was picked up by Midnight Picture Show and Armada Pictures.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the U.S. films rights to writer / director Michael McGowan’s “Saint Ralph,” staring Jennifer Tilly (The Cat’s Meow, Liar Liar, The Fabulous Baker Boys), Campbell Scott (Roger Dodger, Singles), and Adam Butcher.
