England soccer sensation David Beckham is set to make his film debut alongside teammates Zinedine Zidane and Raul in a soccer-based trilogy, “Goal,” a film to be directed by Danny Cannon and written by Adrian Butchart.

Jessica Alba (Honey, TV’s Dark Angel) has joined “Sonic,” a film written and directed by Kirsten Elms (Stash).

The writing team of Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (Honest, The Commitments) are penning a film adaptation of the novel “Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief.”

Alejandro Agresti is set to direct “Il Mare,” a film adapted from the novel by David Auburn (Proof).

Elizabeth Perkins (Big, He Said, She Said) will replace Kyra Sedgwick (Secondhand Lions, Phenomenon, Singles) in “Must Love Dogs,” a film directed and adapted by Gary David Goldberg (Dad, TV’s Family Ties – Creator).
