Doom Release for 2005

According to IMDB today, Doom, the feature film based on the bit series of video games, has been solidified for release on August 5th, 2005 (1 day before my wedding…Doom before my marriage..greeeat).

Rumors are quelled with the release. The Rock will play Sarge, the bad-to-the-bone space marine and Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day) will star alongside the wrestler-turned-actor as Samantha, likely a love interest.

Very little plot is known, or expected for that matter, since it’s video game counterparts aren’t exactly known for their stories. We expect an action flic with plenty of opportunity for over the top special effects, but that’s what we said about Dungeons & Dragons too. Cringe.
