Dreamworks Moves Shrek 2

Dreamworks has made a last minute deicision to move up the theatrical release of their much anticipated film, Shrek 2, to Wednesday May 19th. Tickets will also be on sale at theatres and on the internet starting May 7th, almost 2 weeks before the film opens.

Jim Tharpe, Head of Distribution made the announcement stating, “I can’t remember a time when we’ve felt more anticipation for a film from both the public and the press. The response to early screenings has been wonderful, so we thought this would be a great way to meet the demand to see the movie and to give audiences a way to guarantee having tickets in hand when they get to the theatre.”

This film looks amazing and there is a lot of positive press surrounding the opening. This should be a good family film to start the movie out with, but I don’t think Dreamworks realizes that this movie has a larger adult audience then children.
