James Cameron's Avatar Trailer Out Now

This morning saw the release of the hotly anticipated Avatar trailer from James Cameron. After a couple of viewings, those of us in the office, and indeed in online forums all over the net, we’ve got mixed feelings.

Maybe the trailer really doesn’t do the film justice. After all, you got a good storyteller behind the wheel, WETA digital behind most of the effects and an originality starved film audience that have been numbed by remake after reboot after re-imagining. At first glance though, Avatar looks like a cross between Delgo (an underrated, but ultimately failed CG animated film) and Bruce Willis’ upcoming sci-fi outing, Surrogates. Stealing the comparison from a friend of a friend, it looks like a bunch of Jar Jar Binks’s running around.

It’s only the first trailer, and I’m sure more and more will be revealed now that the seal has been broken. You can find the trailer on Apple.com and have a look at some stills below.
