Joss Whedon to Direct X-3?

Whedon has been recently named as the fan favorite to replace Bryan Singer as the director for X-3 since Singer stepped down to take the helm of Superman. These are currently said to be just rumors, but Whedon would love to direct the new movie and has intimate experience with the series. In fact, he has a writing credit from the original movie as well as he is the current writer of Astonishing X-Men for Marvel Comics.

Whedon’s popular series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have definetly put him in the limelight. He is also currently working on a film called Serenity, which is based on his series Firefly that only last 14 episodes before being dropped from TV. This film is being produced by Universal and does not have a release date yet.

Whedon would be a great choice to take Singer’s place…let’s just hope that Fox hears everyone’s cries and picks him. Read more about the rumors and his current projects here.
