Passion for Christ is not about the money
There was a time when calling somebody a religious profit was a good thing. This time around, 20th Century Fox thinks that Mel Gibson and his “The Passion of the Christ,” should be a movie enjoyed, and bought, by the masses. Specifically, 6 million churchgoers should buy the movie.
20th Century has blitzed the Christian world to buy the upcoming DVD release of “The Passion of the christ”. 6 million emails were sent to Christians around the world. Also in it’s planned advertising scheme are 600,000 postcards for church goers. They also plan mass distributions to church organizations, at a discount of course. According to reports released by Fox, some buyers are interested in purchasing up to 100,000 units at a time.
So, does Mel have the Passion in his soul? So far, his production company, Icon Productions, has sued two movie theatre chains, has posted record ticket sales, and has posted record-breaking profit margins. Too bad his passion for sharing his passion doesn’t include sharing it free of charge.
