Love Actually
Love Actually is a story of Love, well obvoiusly you could tell that from the title, actually (no pun intended) it’s the story of 14+ characters who run through all the pitfalls and triumphs of love while in England 3 weeks from Christmas.
Though I am no fan of Bridget Jones’ Diary or Three Weddings and a Funeral (I did not see either), and I secretly enjoyed Notting Hill but writer/director Richard Curtis really does know how to write a darn good script and translate it on to the big screen. His ability to show the audience interesting, deep characters while still being believeable is truly amazing, and I look forward to his next film already.
That being said, I could not understand why I wanted to see this film so much, and no it wasn’t only because Kiera Knightly was in it, though all of us Geeks here agree that she is enough to make us go see a film we would not have seen anyway. Truth is, the advertising for this film really worked – the Trailer was interesting, touching and funny all at the same time. And later upon investigation I found the official website to be one of the best I’ve seen all year (my own excluded to be fair and open minded).
The movie did not dissapoint all of the promise of the trailer, and even at a run-time of about 2 1/2 hours was a practically non-stop laugh riot with many heart warming tales. The perfect holiday movie for you and the woman or man you love..
If you have a heart and want to feel good and laugh a lot, I highly suggest you go see, Love Actually.
My Score – Greenlight!
