Ocean's Twelve

In the same style of the original, Ocean’s Eleven, this film begins
three years after the Benedict Heist. The entire cast returns to
reprise their roles and Catherine Zeta-Jones is added, but she is not
Ocean’s Twelve. In fact, I won’t give that one away. I will let you
watch the movie for yourself to figure that one out.

The story opens with Benedict (Andy Garcia) finding all of the members
of Danny Ocean’s (George Clooney) team. They are all split up around
the world, so you get to see what they did after they stole all of the
money. He gives them two weeks to return the money plus interest. Since
they are too hot to steal in the U.S. they move to European soil. This
definetly adds for great backgrounds and interesting locals. Different
ones include Amsterdam, Rome, and France. The team takes up stealing
again to try and raise the money that they need to pay Benedict back,
but this time the twists and turns are even bigger the the original
movie. They run into another thief, The Nightfox (Vincent Cassel), who
thinks that he is better then the team of Ocean’s Eleven. They strike a
deal and begin to play the game and see who can steal the Faberge Egg
first. I am not going to spoil anything for you here because you really
need to see the movie.

With everyone reprising their roles
you get to see them with the same problems and attitudes. Rusty (Brad
Pitt) and Ocean still run the team and have conversations that are
great. Linus (Matt Damon) puts his ever assertive foot forward and
wants to play a bigger part this time, so Rusty and Ocean start
grooming him for a lead role with the team. This adds for some great
comedy. Frank (Bernie Mac) is still concerned with his appearance and
it ultimately gets him in trouble. There are the Mormon twins Virgil
(Casey Affleck) and Turk (Scott Caan) who still argue over the
stupidest things. Yen (Shaobo Qin) is the grease man and still doesn’t
speak any English, but this time more then just Rusty can understand
him. Bashar (Don Cheadle) does not blow up as much things in this one,
but you still get to listen to him swear a lot. There is even a scene
in the film that mocks the FCC and their current stand on indecent
language. Saul (Carl Reiner) is still the old man who needs to be
convinced that this is the right thing to do, but this time they don’t
convince him he does it himself. Rueben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould) is the
man with all the money to back the plans, but this time he actually
plays a role in the heisting because his life is also at stake.
Livingston (Eddie Jemison) has the computer equipment that all nerds
salivated over in the original movie…this time there is even more.
Isabel (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is a new character and the “girl” for
this movie. Last film it was Tess (Julia Roberts). She is still in this
movie and plays an even bigger part and a good twist in the story.
Isabel is a detective for Europol who tries to find thiefs and she is
the love interest of Rusty.

Okay, enough about the
characters. If you loved the first movie then you will love the second
one. It has a great story and enough twists and turns to keep you
interested, but not confused for the two hours. Plus there are cameos
galore including Albert Finney, Bruce Willis, Topher Grace, and James
Zahn. Topher and Bruce are cameos as themselves. I really want to tell
you more, but with Soderbergh throwing in stuff I don’t want to give
the great storyline away…so get off or your butt and head to the
nearest theatre right now.
