Bon Voyage to Bungie Badass
Let’s say you’re the top dog in charge of the multiplayer aspect for what is arguable the best multiplayer fps ever made. Let’s say the sequel to that game is on the verge of release and is poised to put it’s predecessor to shame. What do you do?
You leave.
After 10 years with the company, Max Hoberman, multiplayer lead for Halo 2 and 3 is stepping away from Microsoft and Bungie, though not going too far. Hoberman, according to teambxox.com, is trekking from Seattle to Texas and opening a new development studio to be known as Certain Affinity. Its first project? New multiplayer maps for Halo 2. We can’t be certain, but these may be the maps Microsoft announced a few weeks ago alongside the Halo3 beta signup.
Fear not gamers, it’s doubtful his leaving will effect the the trifecta title. Hoberman’s own words inspire hope: “Halo 2 turned the online world on its head, but Halo 3 is going to rip its head right off. I am proud of my contribution to the Halo series and have learned a lot from my friends at Bungie.“
