Dueling Banjos to Pluck its Way to Guitar Hero World Tour

Steve Ouimette, the guitarist that took Devil Went Down to Georgia’s fiddling and made it a guitar players nightmare for Guitar Hero 3 is yet again tweaking a hillbilly classic into rock for Guitar Hero World Tour.

Dueling Banjos, the instrumental made famous by 1972’s film Deliverance (used illegally by the way) was actually composed in 1955. Ouimette’s version will likely feature lightning fast fretting and give players a chance to play a real duet, though on fake guitars.

Banjo’s will be the final downloadable track for Guitar Hero World Tour before Guitar Hero 5 officially hits store shelves on September 1st.

As an added bonus, a few free tracks are now available, though you’ve probably never heard of em before today. Three bands starring Activision employees bring their… unique talents to DLC. “The Silence is Deafening” by Awaken, “Nothing All the Time” by H is Orange and “I’ll Never Know” by Hundred Reasons can now be found in your respective digital marketplaces.
