ESPN 360 All Access Week
For all of you sports fans out there here is a sneak preview you would
love to take advantage of. From April 27-May 1, ESPN 360 will have an
all access preview for all broadband users. During this time you can
access the website and take advantage of many free items and previews
that you will see listed below. The most exciting one is that you will
be able to part of a beta test for their newest massively multiplayer
online sports game. In fact this is a first of its kind.
Ultimate Baseball Online: ESPN Spring Training is a 9-on-9 multiplayer
game that you can play online. You can hone your skills and be on a
team with your friends and play games against other people. This is
something new and could have a great following considering that it
keeps the game more interesting. I know that I will be checking it out
during the all access week. Check out the screen shots too.
Check out the official details of the press release from ESPN 360 and the schedule for that week listed below.
ESPN360, ESPN’s customizable broadband service, will be available to
all broadband users Wednesday, April 27 – Sunday, May 1. This
All-Access Week will enable fans to log on to www.espn360.com and
download the ESPN360 application. Fans with a broadband connection will
have the opportunity to view and experience the customizable interface
that offers extensive highlights, live games, uncut interviews, inside
analysis from ESPN commentators, sneak-previews of ESPN original
programming, and sports video games.
“ESPN360 provides an unparalleled experience for sports fans who want
to get the most out of their broadband connection.” said Tanya Van
Court, vice president and general manager, ESPN Broadband and
Interactive Television. “The All Access Week is a great opportunity for
our fans to see live sporting events, watch inside analysis from ESPN
commentators on all major sports, get on-demand access to full-length
SportsCenter interviews from marquis athletes, and play high-quality
broadband video games – all at no charge to the fan.”
ALL-ACCESS WEEK HIGHLIGHTS:
Ultimate Baseball Online – ESPN Spring Training
During ESPN360’s All Access Week, fans will enjoy a sneak peek into
Ultimate Baseball Online, the new online 9-on-9 multiplayer baseball
game. ESPN Spring Training, a preview of Ultimate Baseball Online, will
allow users to hone their batting, pitching and fielding skills – and
get ready for the full launch of Ultimate Baseball Online on May 12.
The full version of Ultimate Baseball Online is a first-of-its-kind
“massively multi-player” sports game that allows fans to play
interactive baseball over their computer’s broadband connection. With
stunning graphics and surround-sound audio reactions from the crowd,
participants control customized virtual characters for each position
and compete together against other UBO gamers. Through their
avatar-players bat, pitch, field, run, steal and control a virtual
player that plays a specific field position (e.g. short stop, pitcher,
left field,). Participants can practice, play pick-up games, join or
found their own teams, compete against rival teams, play in unique
tournament settings, and win a league championship during the
post-season play. Gamers build their skill level (player stats) through
successful play on the online field against other real human
participants.
On May 12, ESPN360 will make a full 9-on-9 interactive version of
Ultimate Baseball Online available to all ESPN360 users in a Beta
trial. To learn more about UBO and Spring Training visit www.ESPN.com
or www.ultimatebaseballonline.com.
