More Guitar Hero 2 360 Details
What rocks harder than co-op Guitar Hero 2 on the PS2? Try co-op Guitar Hero 2 on the Xbox 360 with new songs, downloadable content and High Definition graphics.
It didn’t take much forethought to predict that Activision and Red Octane would offer downloadable songs after they announced that their hit rythm based guitar game would find it’s way to the 360 in 2007. Today’s releases reveal that GH2 fans willing to shell up for a new disc and a new wireless guitar will get the new Gibson shaped axe, 10 brand new songs and a promise from Activision to provide even more new tracks via Xbox Live.
Dusty Welch, head of publishing at Red Octane: “Guitar Hero is all about feeling like a rock star, and we’re adding to the experience by offering our fans an exciting pipeline of new songs, fun and exclusive downloadable content, and the opportunity to see who rocks hardest with an online leaderboard. The expansive capabilities of the Xbox 360 will allow us to provide a consistent stream of fresh new content to our fans, and we plan on fully supporting these efforts.”
Half of the newly included songs have been announced, with more from the disc and available for download coming soon.
- Billion Dollar Babies (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
- Hush (as made famous by Deep Purple)
- Dead! (by My Chemical Romance)
- Life Wasted (as made famous by Pearl Jam)
- Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo (as made famous by Rick Derringer)
No solid dates have been announced, but the publishers are offering up spring before we can get our wannabe rocker hands on it. We’re guessing March to compete with the big Wii titles and maybe a few ‘good’ PS3 titles. Ooh. Did I type that out loud?
