New Screenshots: EA's TimeSplitters Future Perfect
EA is bringing the third in a series of First Person Shooters to the Xbox, PS2 and GameCube later this year with TimeSplitters Future Perfect. Previous incarnations were well accepted and rivaled the most popular Bond games in terms of story and gameplay.
Though I typically despise time-travel based stories, the plot gave developers an excuse to send the player back and forth into clearly distinct levels from ancient times to the wild west to the stark future of earth. The games, particularly Time Splitters 2 for the PS2 was extremely fluid and though a bit short, it offered solid gameplay and multiplayer split screen action that gave Halo-less PS2 fans something to arrange parties over.
The upcoming third game still encompases the same time-travelling but will throw you for a loop when you meet your future and past selves to team up for battle. Almost sounds like a cop out for re-using the same in game model, but the humor possibilities get a boost. How can you say no to Zombie Nurses or monkeys with guns? No solid release date is set, but you can check out the screenshots below or find TimeSplitters’ home on the web at EA Games.
