Reverse Auction at Wendy's
I like free stuff. It’s part of the reason I got into this whole critic business in the first place, so I can’t imagine a reason to lessen my chances of getting said free stuff and help others by broadcasting it en-masse to the internet, but what the heck.
Wendy’s, the burger joint (with whom I frequently visit), is holding a reverse auction of sorts to give away some nice prizes. Starting tomorrow (April 3rd) at 8am Pacific time, registered users to www.99centbidforvalue.com will be given an opportunity to “bid” on several items including an Xbox360 Elite and an ultimate game room package that throws in a 50″ Panasonic Plasma (odd though, its only 720p).
Log in at specific times and you’ll be presented with a barrage of trivia questions. Submit the answers as often as you want. A correct answer merits a drop in price from the retail value of the item. Once it hits 99 cents, the last successful bidder gets the item. Here’s the auction schedule:
11:00 AM EST – 11:29 AM EST Microsoft – Xbox 360 Elite
Console
11:30 AM EST – 11:59 AM EST Ultimate Game Chair –
Ultimate Game Chair V3
12:00 PM EST – 12:29 PM EST Panasonic – 50″ 720p
Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV
12:30 PM EST – 12:59 PM EST Ultimate Game Room –
Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console, Ultimate Game Chair V3, Panasonic – 50″
720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV
Not bad. According to the site, trivia will mostly be tongue-in-cheek question and answers, so you won’t need an MIT degree to play and win.
