The Flock Cometh

I first read about Flock shortly after E3 (that we were sadly unable to attend) last year and I thought that it was just quirky enough to work. In a way, Flock is like the classic Lemmings, wherein your goal is to get otherwise mindless cute and cuddlies safely to an exit point. Instead of assigning a task to individuals to dig a hole or build stairs, you take the much more daunting role of an abduction happy alien spacecraft to clear obstacles and scare the daylights out of livestock to get them to move in the path of your determining.

Time limits are imposed and puzzles are laid to solve out but other than that, it’s as simple to get into as it sounds. Pretty easy to see how the game could be addicting. Throw in some goofy sound effects, quirky music and all the crop circle humor you can stomach. Simmer for 45 minutes and there you have Flock. Capcom promises co-op and competitive play, not to mention a level builder to keep the tractor beams flowing.

It may not be Little Big Planet for Xbox 360 owners, but it has that kind of ‘feel’ to it. Here’s a vid and some screenies for your viewing pleasure.
