Zelda's Triumphant Return to the GameCube
One of the biggest official announcements at this years E3 wasn’t
confined to a next-gen system. Nintendo’s long awaited Zelda adventure
is coming and they couldn’t be prouder.
At a press conference early in the week, attendees were treated to the
first trailer of the upcoming game for the cube, The Legend of Zelda:
Twighlight Princess. To help promote the game, the trailer was provided
to members of the press on a limited NintendoDS cartridge. The footage
shows Link, all grown up this time and out of the curly-q cell shaded
Hyrule he found himself in with Windwaker and the Minnish Cap.
In a word, Zelda is gorgeous. The dynamic lighting and detailed
character animations prove that the Cube is still a contender and can
be just as stunning as any next-gen system. It may not have the power
to save the GameCube from certain extinction single-handedly, but it
will certainly delay it and we predict it’ll generate revenue for the
system once again.
Sadly, we weren’t able to play it quite yet, but we’re chompin at the
bit. What we did get were some screen shots that are likely to get you
pumped.
