Thunderbirds Are Go!

Well, more than go. Anyone over 25 may remember a little show, 32 episodes in total called Thunderbirds. The show was filmed in a process dubbed Supermarionation, esentially just marionettes, puppets on strings. Recently, MTV has aired the episodes again, but under our radar, Jonathan Frakes has been helming a live action version of the series for an upcoming summer film release.

The trailer can be seen over on Quicktime.com. It’s being put out by Universal and stars Bill Paxton and Ben Kinglsey.

The trailer gives an air of Lost in Space meets Spy Kids, and being that it’s a TV remake of a puppet show, I’m thinkin its got little potential for the 20-30 somethings who watched the original series.
