Atari Gets Their Xbox 360 License with Test Drive Unlimited

We gots us some new fangled screens from Atari’s first entry into the Xbox 360 market with Test Drive Unlimited.

The game promises more customization, tweaks and tricks to real life
cars than any other racer to date. Purchase after market parts with
cash you’ve earned racing both computer opponents or when you hop
online to race in a persistant matchmaking mode.

Car
customization aside, players also outfit their driver, choosing to have
him/her look any way they want, uniqe to their gamer profile on Xbox
Live, something clearly unique to racing games. Atari’s developer’s
describe the new functionality as it fits into an MMO style of
gameplay. Tournament style races will be had for prize money as will
private one on one street racing where players can wager against each
other bringing a new angle to online game not seen before.

The level of interactivity promised is obsessive and topping 150,
vehicle choice is unprecedented. More to come from the E3 show floor.
