GTA, Resident Evil Hybrid Canned

This year’s E3 was filled with tons of announcements and plans for new concepts. Activision filled their booth with the biggest and the brightest, but also offered some glimpses of projects in the works.

Dead Rush was one such beast that looked to combine the basic game play elements of the Grand Theft Auto series with the survival horror aspect of Resident Evil. Think of it as GTA: Raccoon City. A few screenshots were released, but little else was revealed.

According to ShackNews though, Activision and developer Treyarch has decided to sack the project for unknown reasons. As of this writing, Treyarch’s official website features a front page image and link to Dead Rush’s official website www.deadrush.com, but clicking away at the link produces a dead link. Most recently, Treyarch developed the Spiderman 2 video game that takes this same GTA style approach of Go Anwwhere, Do Anything, Anytime gameplay.
