Stop Yelling At The TV

Then again, maybe you shouldn’t.

Konami, Japanese video game pioneers have developed a new game for the PS2 that relies solely on the voice commands from the player. Using a USB headset, the game recognizes 5,000 words and over 100,000 phrases that are necessary to tell the games main character where to go and what to shoot.

“LifeLine” plays out like this: the gamer plays a character locked in the control room of a starship with no outside contact except for a lone alien attack survivor, eye candy named Rio. The player guides Rio through the corridors and challenges that she faces in order to free you and escape the ship. The gamer never touches the controller.

Despite it’s popularity in Japan and an inspired concept, as a game LifeLine sounds REALLY boring. Remember those text based adventures on the first PC’s?
