Preview – BLOOM Brings a Bouquet of Fun to Griffith Park
Summer is here: the flowers are blossoming, the bees are buzzing, and the weather is nice and warm. It’s the perfect time to get outside with the family and head to Griffith Park for BLOOM Los Angeles’ interactive pop-up art show!
With nearly a dozen large-scale art pieces – including giant dandelions, a rolling field of poppies, and a House of Flowers – BLOOM will be taking over 100,000 square feet of the park. Adults and children alike will be able to don flower crowns or get their faces painted while sticking their toes in the soil, enjoying the scent of wild jasmine, or soaking in a tub of lavender.
Bee the Change
Partnering with the non-profit organization Honeylove, BLOOM also offers daily presentations by The Valley Hive on the importance of honeybees, their conservation, and new beekeeper education. As an added insight into these amazing pollinators, honey tastings will be available after the presentations, and Bethany Barton will be reading her book, Give Bees a Chance, on Sunday. Workshops on Mindful Skincare, Pressed Flower Crafts, Meditative Painting, Essential Oils, and Paper Flowers also fill up the varied schedule.
A Bouquet of Fun
Grab treats from the food trucks to have a picnic under flower teepees, enjoy the hand-crafted art on display, relax while listening to the musical guests – including Violets Are, Leroy and the Bad Browns, and Manda Malina – take plenty of selfies in the outrageously beautiful BLOOM installations, and celebrate the longest day of the year while dancing around the safe, no-fire bonfire.
BLOOM bursts into Griffith Park June 22-24. Check out their website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the fun that awaits you. Tickets are $25 (plus optional add-ons), timed and only available online, so purchase yours today. You will also be given the opportunity to donate to Honeylove’s conservation efforts at checkout.
