Daily Casting Report – 9/22/2004

Bond Girl Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day, The Libertine) will join Karl Urban (The Bourne Supremacy, Lord of the Rings Series) and The Rock (Walking Tall, The Rundown) in Andrzej Bartkowiak’s (Cradle 2 the Grave, Exit Wounds) video game to film adaptation of “Doom.”

Eric Bana (Troy, Hulk, Black Hawk Down) has signed up with “Lucky You,” which is being directed by Curtis Hanson (8 mile, LA Confidential) in a script written by Eric Roth (Ali, The Insider, The Horse Whisperer).

Adrien Brody (The Village, The Pianist) is to star in “Truth, Justice and the American Way.”

Jeremy Renner (S.W.A.T) is working to join Charlize Theron (Monster, The Italian Job) and Frances McDormand (Almost Famous, Fargo) in “Class Action,” a script penned by Michael Seitzman and directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider).

Jim Rygiel, who won Oscars for his Visual Effects work on the “Lord of the Rings” series will make a directorial debut filming “Bunyan and Babe.”

Green Day is in talks with MTV productions to bring their newly released “American Idiot” Rock Opera to film.

The crew behind the “Scary Movie” series, writer Craig Mazin, director David Zucker, and producer Robert Weiss have been approached for a new brand of Satire in “Superhero!,” which will parody the recent wave of Super Hero films like Spiderman, The Hulk, and the pending Fantastic Four.
