DGA Announces it Winners for 2005

DGA handed out their annual awards to several of the best directors of
our time in categories that include film, television, musical theatre,
and commercials. The major award for best theatrical director is the
best barometer for the Oscar. We will not find out until Tuesday
morning when Oscar Nominees are announced if this barometer will hold
true for another year.

….And the Winners Are:
Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film
ANG LEE (Brokeback Mountain)

Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies For Television for 2005 (tie)
JOSEPH SARGENT (Warm Srings)
GEORGE C. WOLFE (Lackawanna Blues)

Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series
MARC BUCKLAND (My Name is Earl “Pilot”)

Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Reality Programs
TONY CROLL (Three Wishes “Pilot”)
J. RUPERT THOMPSON (Fear Factor “Season 6 Premiere”)

Several Lifetime Achievement Awards were also handed out including one to Clint Eastwood.
